## Chapter 1: The Stolen Star Mother
High above the Mushroom Kingdom, far beyond the clouds and castles and floating blocks, there was a place where stars had a home.
It was called the Comet Observatory.
The observatory sailed quietly through space like a silver ship. Its towers shone in the darkness. Its windows glowed warmly. Little Lumas floated through its halls, laughing, spinning, and chasing one another in loops of starlight.
To the Lumas, the observatory was not only a home.
It was family.
And at the center of that family was Princess Rosalina.
Rosalina was calm and kind, with a voice as gentle as moonlight. She cared for the Lumas as if every one of them was her own child. When a Luma was frightened, she listened. When one was lonely, she stayed close. When the stars outside grew dim, she watched and wondered what danger might be moving in the dark.
On this night, the danger did not stay hidden.
A shadow crossed the observatory windows.
The Lumas stopped playing.
Rosalina turned toward the glass and saw ships moving between the stars. They were not the bright, peaceful kind. They were jagged and heavy, with metal claws, roaring engines, and Bowser’s mark painted proudly on their sides.
But Bowser himself was not leading them.
Bowser was far away, tiny now, after his last defeat by Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach.
This attack came from someone else.
Bowser Jr.
He stood at the front of the largest ship, trying to look as fierce as his father. He was smaller than Bowser, but his anger was big enough to fill the sky.
Bowser Jr. had a plan.
He wanted to build a cannon powerful enough to threaten the whole universe. He wanted everyone to fear the name Bowser again. Most of all, he wanted to make his father proud.
But the cannon needed power.
Star power.
Rosalina’s power.
The observatory shook as Bowser Jr.’s forces attacked. Lumas scattered, their little lights flickering with fear. Rosalina moved quickly to protect them, raising her hands as soft blue light spread around the room.
For a moment, it seemed strong enough.
Then Bowser Jr. fired a strange machine.
The blue light cracked like thin ice.
The Lumas cried out as Rosalina was trapped inside a glowing cage. She stayed brave, even as the cage rose from the floor and floated toward Bowser Jr.’s ship.
“Hide,” she told the Lumas, her voice steady. “Find help.”
The ship doors closed.
The engines roared.
And the Comet Observatory’s brightest light was taken away.
One little Luma did not hide for long.
He was small, round, and very scared. But he remembered Rosalina’s words. Find help.
So he flew.
He flew past broken pieces of star dust and through cold, dark space. He flew toward the brightest world he knew, the one with green hills, red roofs, golden coins, and a castle watched over by a princess in pink.
The Mushroom Kingdom.
Far below, Princess Peach was trying to solve a very different problem.
Reports had arrived from Tostarena Town, a sunny desert place of sand, stone, and colorful buildings. Something strange had happened there. People had heard crashes, seen footprints, and spotted a green creature moving faster than anyone could catch.
Mario and Luigi had been called to investigate.
Mario was excited at once.
Luigi tried to be excited too.
Tostarena Town was hot, bright, and full of mystery. The brothers followed the strange tracks through the sand. They found broken pottery, knocked-over stands, and deep little marks in the ground that looked almost like dinosaur feet.
Luigi leaned close to one print and swallowed.
Mario grinned.
Whatever had made the tracks was nearby.
A crash came from behind a wall.
The brothers hurried around the corner and found a green dinosaur tangled in cloth banners, blinking in surprise.
He was not a monster.
He was Yoshi.
Yoshi had not meant to cause trouble. He had hatched far away in Brooklyn, in Mario and Luigi’s own world. Somehow, after a museum accident involving a dinosaur skeleton, he had been chased through a strange path and back toward the world where he belonged.
Now he was lost, hungry, nervous, and very fast.
Mario offered him kindness first.
That worked better than chasing.
Yoshi sniffed Mario’s glove, tilted his head, and decided the brothers were friends.
Luigi relaxed a little.
Only a little.
Before they could learn more, a sparkle streaked across the sky above Tostarena Town. It was the little Luma, falling fast like a tiny shooting star.
The Luma did not land near Mario or Luigi.
He flew past them, over the desert, over the hills, and straight toward Peach’s castle.
By the time Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi returned to the Mushroom Kingdom, everything had changed.
Peach stood in the throne room with Toad beside her. The little Luma hovered in front of them, trembling as he explained what had happened in the stars.
Rosalina had been kidnapped.
Bowser Jr. was building a terrible cannon.
The galaxies were in danger.
Peach looked at the Luma’s frightened face, then out the window toward the sky.
Mario stepped forward, ready to help.
Luigi stepped forward too, though he stayed very close to Mario.
Yoshi made a brave little sound and stood with them.
Peach knew this adventure would be bigger than pipes, castles, or even kingdoms.
This time, their road would lead into space.
And somewhere among the stars, Princess Rosalina was waiting.
## Chapter 1 Summary
Rosalina, the caring mother figure of the Lumas, is kidnapped from the Comet Observatory by Bowser Jr., who wants to use her star power for a universe-threatening cannon to honor his shrunken father, Bowser. One brave Luma escapes to find help. Meanwhile, Mario and Luigi investigate trouble in Tostarena Town and discover Yoshi, who had hatched in Brooklyn and found his way back after a museum accident. The Luma reaches Princess Peach and Toad, warning them that Rosalina and the galaxies are in danger. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Yoshi are pulled into a new space adventure.
## Chapter 2: Yoshi from Brooklyn
The little Luma’s warning changed the whole castle.
One moment, Toads were carrying baskets of mushrooms, polishing windows, and arguing about which hallway needed sweeping first. The next moment, everyone was running.
Princess Peach called her advisers. Toad packed a backpack so full that the zipper looked ready to surrender. Mario checked his gloves. Luigi checked the exits. Yoshi looked around the throne room, wondering if anyone had snacks.
Peach spread a star map across the table. It was not like an ordinary map. The paper was dark blue, and the stars on it moved. Some blinked brightly. Some drifted slowly, as if they were breathing. But near the top of the map, one place flickered with a sickly purple light.
“That is where the trouble is spreading,” Peach said.
The little Luma trembled beside the map. His glow dimmed whenever he looked at that place.
Mario pointed to the dark spot, ready to leave immediately.
Luigi lifted one finger. “Space is very far away,” he said. “And very high. And very full of places where a person could float off forever.”
Mario patted his brother’s shoulder.
Luigi sighed. “Right. We are going.”
Before they could plan a way to reach the stars, the castle shook.
A deep rumble rolled through the floors. Windows rattled. Toad’s overstuffed backpack popped open, sending tools, snacks, and one emergency frying pan across the room.
Outside, a shadow covered the courtyard.
Everyone rushed to the balcony.
Bowser Jr.’s ship had arrived.
It hovered over the castle with metal arms stretched wide. Engines burned orange beneath it. Smaller ships circled like angry wasps. At the front stood Bowser Jr., wearing a grin that tried very hard to look grown-up and dangerous.
He had not come only to attack.
He had come for his father.
Deep inside Peach’s castle, Bowser was still tiny from his last defeat. He was locked away, grumbling, stomping, and making threats in a voice much too big for his little body.
Bowser Jr. wanted him back.
The ship’s claws dropped chains around Peach’s castle. The ground cracked. Stones groaned. Toads shouted from the windows as the entire castle began to lift.
Up it rose, away from its gardens.
Up past the hills.
Up toward the clouds.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Yoshi raced through tilting hallways as furniture slid across the floors. Yoshi caught Toad’s backpack with his tongue before it flew out a window. Luigi grabbed a curtain and swung across a gap he had no desire to see twice.
Mario reached the tower stairs first.
Bowser Jr.’s soldiers poured in from the roof. Koopas clanked down the steps. Goombas bumped into one another. Mechanical toys snapped their little jaws.
Mario jumped into action. Peach fought beside him with quick, graceful moves. Luigi surprised himself by knocking two Koopas into a laundry chute. Yoshi carried Toad out of danger, then ran back for more.
The battle shook the castle harder and harder.
Bowser Jr. tried to steer the castle toward space, but Yoshi leaped onto a control cable and pulled. Mario smashed a lever. Luigi tripped over a helmet and accidentally kicked it into a glowing button.
The ship lurched.
The chains snapped loose.
For one breathless second, Peach’s castle floated in the stars.
Then it fell.
Not back to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Not into the ocean.
The castle crashed into a strange new place filled with giant flowers, buzzing bees, and honey-colored hills.
Honeyhive Galaxy.
The heroes climbed from the broken doorway and stared at the golden world around them. Bees as big as Toads flew between enormous blossoms. Sticky honey dripped from cliffs. The air smelled sweet, warm, and wild.
Bowser, still tiny, tumbled out of a cracked stone wall and landed in a patch of flowers.
He stood up, brushed petals off his shell, and glared at Mario.
Mario glared back.
Bowser smiled a little too cleverly.
He knew Mario’s temper. He knew just how to push it.
Bowser shouted, insulted, and stomped around until Mario finally rushed at him. The moment Mario struck, a burst of magic flashed around Bowser.
The tiny spell broke.
Bowser grew.
And grew.
And grew.
Soon he towered over the flowers, back to his old size, rumbling with laughter.
Luigi stared upward. “That was not our best plan.”
Bowser could have attacked. Instead, he looked at the damaged fields and the frightened bees. For a moment, his grin faded.
He did not apologize exactly. Bowser was not very good at that.
But he made a deal. He would let himself be arrested for the damage if the heroes helped move Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi closer to the path that led through the galaxies.
No one trusted him completely.
But they needed to keep moving.
Soon the brothers and Yoshi were sent onward, toward a place called the Gateway Galaxy.
Behind them, the broken castle rested among the flowers.
Ahead of them, the stars stretched wider than they had ever imagined.
And somewhere beyond them, Bowser Jr. was still searching for his father.
## Chapter 2 Summary
Peach, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi prepare to rescue Rosalina, but Bowser Jr. attacks Peach’s castle from the sky because he wants to free his shrunken father. During the battle, the castle is lifted into space and then dropped into Honeyhive Galaxy. Mario accidentally helps Bowser return to full size after Bowser provokes him. Bowser offers a deal after damaging the fields, and Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi continue toward Gateway Galaxy while Bowser Jr. keeps moving with his dangerous plan.
## Chapter 3: The Monkey Thief of Gateway Galaxy
Gateway Galaxy looked peaceful from far away.
It was small and green, with soft hills that curved around like the world had been rolled into a ball. A few little houses sat under round trees. Stars twinkled close enough to touch. If a person forgot about kidnappings, space cannons, and Bowser Jr., it might have been a lovely place for a picnic.
Toad did not forget.
He checked his backpack every few steps. “Emergency rope, emergency snack, emergency snack for the emergency snack…”
Peach walked beside him, studying the path. The Luma floated near her shoulder, pointing the way toward Rosalina’s last known trail.
Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi were supposed to meet them there.
But before Peach could reach the meeting place, a blur dropped from a tree.
It had a tail, quick hands, and a grin full of trouble.
Ukiki.
The monkey thief snatched Toad’s backpack and bounded away.
Toad gasped as if Ukiki had stolen the moon.
“My backpack!”
Peach ran after the thief. Toad chased after Peach. The Luma zipped behind them, leaving a trail of worried sparkles.
Ukiki was fast. He swung from branches, bounced off stones, and skipped across tiny bridges that curled around the little planet. Every time Toad got close, Ukiki tossed a mushroom, a wrench, or a folded blanket from the backpack to slow him down.
Finally the monkey disappeared behind a stone door hidden under vines.
Peach pushed the vines aside.
Music spilled out.
Inside was a secret casino.
Lights flashed. Coins clinked. Strange creatures crowded around spinning wheels and card tables. At the center of it all sat Wart, the owner of the place, looking very pleased with himself.
Ukiki hopped onto Wart’s chair and dropped Toad’s backpack beside him.
Peach stepped forward.
Wart smiled like someone who had never once returned a borrowed item on time.
Peach did not waste words. She needed the backpack back, and she needed information. Rosalina was missing. Bowser Jr. was building something terrible. Every minute mattered.
Wart pretended not to know anything.
Then the little Luma floated up and glowed brighter.
Some of the casino lights flickered. The room grew quiet.
Wart’s smile weakened.
Peach asked again.
This time, Wart told the truth. He had heard where Rosalina had been taken: Space Junk Galaxy, a dangerous place full of broken machines, old ships, and drifting metal.
Toad hugged his backpack once he got it back, checking to make sure each emergency snack had survived.
But Wart was not finished causing trouble.
As soon as Peach and Toad left the casino, Wart sent a warning to Bowser Jr.
Peach knew too much.
Meanwhile, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi arrived at Gateway Galaxy from another path. Luigi was dizzy from space travel. Mario was excited. Yoshi was delighted to discover that low gravity made jumping even more fun.
The friends reunited on a hill under the stars.
Peach told them what Wart had revealed.
Space Junk Galaxy.
The name alone made Luigi uneasy.
“How much junk are we talking about?” he asked.
The Luma made a very serious face.
Luigi nodded. “That much.”
They needed a ship. They needed a pilot. They needed someone brave enough, skilled enough, and maybe just reckless enough to fly them through dangerous space.
That was when the roar of engines filled the sky.
A sleek ship streaked across the stars and looped over Gateway Galaxy. It was fast, sharp, and silver, with blue lights along its wings.
It landed smoothly nearby.
The cockpit opened.
Out climbed Fox McCloud.
He wore a pilot’s jacket and the confident look of someone who had flown through worse places than this before breakfast.
Peach had hired him to take them to Space Junk Galaxy.
Mario liked him right away.
Luigi looked at the ship and wondered if walking through space might be safer.
Fox checked the controls, listened to Peach’s plan, and glanced at the nervous Luma.
Then he nodded.
“Buckle up,” he said.
The heroes climbed into the ship.
Behind them, Gateway Galaxy grew smaller.
Ahead of them waited Space Junk Galaxy.
And Bowser Jr. already knew they were coming.
## Chapter 3 Summary
Peach, Toad, and the Luma reach Gateway Galaxy, but Ukiki steals Toad’s backpack and leads them to Wart’s hidden casino. Peach forces Wart to reveal Rosalina’s location: Space Junk Galaxy. Wart secretly warns Bowser Jr. After Peach reunites with Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi, the group hires Fox McCloud to fly them through space. They leave Gateway Galaxy, not knowing Bowser Jr. is preparing to attack.
## Chapter 4: Fox McCloud’s Rescue Flight
Fox McCloud’s ship cut through space like a silver arrow.
Mario pressed his face close to the window, amazed by every planet they passed. Luigi sat very still, gripping his seat belt with both hands. Yoshi’s nose left little foggy circles on the glass. Toad tried to read a safety card, but the ship turned so quickly that he had to read the same line five times.
Fox was calm at the controls.
Space Junk Galaxy appeared ahead.
It was not a normal galaxy. It looked like someone had swept up every broken thing in the universe and left it floating together. Old rocket parts drifted beside cracked platforms. Metal beams spun slowly. Rusty machines blinked with weak red lights. Far away, pieces of forgotten ships bumped gently against one another.
Somewhere in that dangerous maze was Rosalina.
Peach leaned forward. The closer they got, the more the Luma trembled.
Then the warning alarm screamed.
Bowser Jr. attacked from above.
His ship burst out from behind a field of broken metal. Cannons flashed. Fireballs streaked past Fox’s wings. The Arwing rolled, dived, and twisted through the junk while everyone shouted at once.
Fox flew with amazing skill, but Bowser Jr. had a new weapon.
The Super Scope.
It did not fire ordinary blasts. It fired strange magic that crackled blue and white. When the beam hit Mario and Luigi, the whole ship filled with light.
Mario’s cap tumbled to the floor.
Luigi’s gloves slid off his hands.
When the light faded, the brothers were babies.
Baby Mario blinked.
Baby Luigi looked ready to cry.
Yoshi stared at them, then at Peach, then at Fox, as if hoping someone could explain why his friends had suddenly become very small.
No one had time.
Another blast struck the ship.
Fox fought the controls, but the Arwing spun away from Space Junk Galaxy and fell toward a prehistoric world below.
Fossil Falls.
The crash was loud, messy, and full of dirt.
When the heroes climbed out, the air was damp and warm. Waterfalls poured over cliffs. Giant bones stuck from the ground. In the distance, something enormous roared.
Luigi, now Baby Luigi, made a tiny squeak.
Bowser Jr.’s ship passed overhead, leaving them stranded.
Bowser was aboard that ship too. He had been taken by his son after years apart. At first, Bowser looked proud to be wanted again. But as he watched Bowser Jr. attack the brothers and leave them helpless, something uncomfortable twisted inside him.
Bowser did not like Mario.
He did not like Luigi.
He did not like losing.
But even he knew that tricking and abandoning babies was not the glorious victory he would have chosen.
For a moment, Bowser seemed sorry.
Then Bowser Jr. looked at him, eager for approval, and Bowser pushed the feeling away.
He wanted his son to admire him.
So he went along with the plan.
Down in Fossil Falls, Yoshi became the hero.
He found the Super Scope after it fell during the attack. He carried Baby Mario and Baby Luigi through tall grass and over slippery stones. He dodged chomping plants, leaped across broken bones, and hid when a Tyrannosaurus stomped near the cliffs.
The dinosaur was huge.
Yoshi was not.
But Yoshi was clever.
He led the Tyrannosaurus away from the babies, doubled back, and used the Super Scope’s magic to change Mario and Luigi back to their normal ages.
Mario sat up, dizzy but full-sized again.
Luigi checked his hands, his hat, his mustache, and then hugged Yoshi.
The roar came again.
This time, it was closer.
Luigi looked at the sky and shouted for help as loudly as he could.
Far above, the Lumas heard him.
Lights gathered in the clouds. One by one, the little stars appeared, circling down like a rescue team made of wishes.
They lifted the heroes away from Fossil Falls and carried them up, up, up into space.
The Comet Observatory waited above them.
It was beautiful.
And it was hurting.
## Chapter 4 Summary

Fox McCloud flies the heroes toward Space Junk Galaxy, but Bowser Jr. attacks. He uses the Super Scope to turn Mario and Luigi into babies, and Fox’s ship crash-lands in Fossil Falls. Bowser briefly regrets betraying the brothers but chooses to support Bowser Jr. Yoshi protects Baby Mario and Baby Luigi from danger, finds the Super Scope, and restores them to normal. Luigi calls for help, and the Lumas bring the group to the Comet Observatory.

## Chapter 5: Sisters of Stardust
The Comet Observatory was even larger than Mario had imagined.
Its towers rose like silver trees. Its floors shimmered with star patterns. Every hallway seemed to hum with soft music. But many of the lights were dim. Some doors hung open. A few windows were cracked from Bowser Jr.’s attack.
The Lumas led Peach through the observatory with quiet urgency.
She felt something strange the moment she stepped inside.
Not fear.
Not exactly.
It was more like remembering a song she had never heard before.
The little Luma who had found them floated close to Peach and pointed toward a chamber at the heart of the observatory. There, a pool of starlight reflected the whole universe. Galaxies turned slowly in its surface. Comets passed like silver fish beneath the light.
Peach knelt beside it.
Her reflection shimmered.
Then Rosalina’s face appeared in the starlight.
She was trapped far away, weak but alive.
When Peach saw her, the room seemed to hold its breath.
Rosalina looked surprised too.
Not because Peach had come.
Because she recognized her.
The truth unfolded slowly, like a secret hidden inside a star.
Peach was not only the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Long ago, she had been born from stardust, just like Rosalina.
Rosalina was her older sister.
When Peach was only a baby, danger had come for them both. To keep Peach safe, Rosalina had sent her away to the Mushroom Kingdom, where she could grow up protected and loved. Peach had never known why the stars felt familiar. She had never known why she could be brave even when the sky itself seemed too big.
Now she knew.
Peach touched the starlight.
Far away, Rosalina reached toward her from inside Bowser Jr.’s prison.
Their hands did not truly meet, but the light between them burst bright and warm.
The whole observatory glowed.
The Lumas cheered.
Mario watched in wonder. Luigi wiped his eyes and pretended it was space dust. Toad forgot to be worried for almost three seconds.
Peach felt power move through her, not like a weapon, but like a promise. She and Rosalina shared the power of the cosmos. Together, they could heal what had been broken.
But Rosalina was fading.
Bowser Jr. was draining her power into his cannon. If the heroes did not stop him soon, the weapon would be ready.
Fox checked the observatory’s controls with Toad and the Lumas. The Arwing was damaged from the crash, but the Comet Observatory could still move. It was not as quick as Fox’s ship, but it was strong, and the Lumas knew how to guide it.
Their destination appeared in the starlight pool.
Planet Bowser.
It had not existed before. Bowser Jr. was building it from captured power, broken worlds, and dark machines. Its surface burned red and black. Fortresses crawled across it like iron bugs. At its center, the universe-destroying cannon pointed toward the stars.
Peach stood.
Her face was calm, but her eyes were bright with determination.
Rosalina was her sister.
The Lumas were her family too.
And Bowser Jr. had taken enough.
Fox, Toad, and the Lumas prepared the observatory for flight. Mario tightened his gloves. Luigi took a deep breath. Yoshi stamped one foot, ready to run wherever his friends needed him.
The Comet Observatory turned toward Planet Bowser.
The stars stretched into lines of light.
The final rescue had begun.
## Chapter 5 Summary
The heroes reach the damaged Comet Observatory, where Peach connects with Rosalina through starlight and learns Rosalina is her long-lost older sister. Both sisters were born from stardust, and Rosalina sent baby Peach to the Mushroom Kingdom long ago to protect her. Peach discovers they share cosmic power, but Rosalina is weakening because Bowser Jr. is draining her energy into his cannon. Fox, Toad, and the Lumas prepare the Comet Observatory to carry the heroes toward Planet Bowser.
## Chapter 6: Planet Bowser
Planet Bowser burned against the darkness.
It was not round and peaceful like Gateway Galaxy. It was jagged, smoky, and angry. Rivers of lava cut through black stone. Metal towers stabbed into the sky. Bowser flags snapped in hot wind. At the highest point stood the cannon, huge enough to make even Mario stop smiling.
The Comet Observatory could not land safely.
Fox guided it as close as he dared. Toad and the Lumas worked the controls, keeping the ship steady while fireballs burst around them.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi jumped down onto a stone bridge that stretched across a lava moat.
Heat rushed up at them.
Peach looked toward the fortress where Rosalina was held.
Mario looked toward the cannon.
Luigi looked toward the lava and decided he did not like any part of the plan.
They ran.
Bowser’s soldiers charged from every side. Koopas marched in rows. Mechanical claws snapped from the walls. Bullet Bills screamed overhead. Yoshi carried Luigi across gaps while Mario smashed blocks to clear a path. Peach used bursts of starry light to shield them when the cannon’s energy made the ground shake.
At the center bridge, Bowser appeared.
He was bigger than ever, with fire in his throat and pride in his eyes. Bowser Jr. stood behind him, eager to prove that their family could win together.
Mario stepped forward.
Bowser roared.
Their battle shook the bridge.
Mario dodged fire, jumped from stone to stone, and struck when he could. Peach tried to reach Rosalina’s prison, but Bowser blocked the way. Yoshi and Luigi fought Bowser Jr.’s machines as sparks flew around them.
Then Mario saw his chance.
He leaped, spun, and hit Bowser hard enough to knock him backward.
Bowser stumbled.
The bridge cracked.
With a roar of surprise, Bowser fell into the lava moat below.
For a moment, everything went quiet.
Bowser Jr. stared at the lava.
Mario did too.
Then the lava bubbled.
A skeletal hand rose from the fire.
Bowser climbed out changed.
His shell was blackened. His eyes glowed. His body had become a burning skeleton of himself.
Dry Bowser.
Luigi’s voice came out very small. “That is new.”
Dry Bowser laughed, and the whole planet seemed to laugh with him.
Bowser Jr. shouted orders. His newest creation stomped onto the bridge, a towering machine with spinning arms and a furnace heart. It was supposed to help him win.
Instead, the machine went wild.
It swung at everyone, including Bowser Jr.
For the first time, Bowser Jr. looked truly scared.
Mario saw him trapped beneath the machine’s shadow.
He did not stop to think about whose son Bowser Jr. was.
He jumped.
With help from Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach’s light, Mario smashed the machine’s furnace heart. The creation collapsed before it could crush Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr. stared at Mario, confused.
Mario had saved him.
Even after everything.
Dry Bowser roared again, but something had changed. Bowser Jr. was no longer smiling. He looked from the broken machine to Mario, then to the prison where Rosalina’s light was fading.
He had wanted to make his father proud.
But his plan was destroying everything.
The cannon began to charge.
The sky turned white.
There was almost no time left.
## Chapter 6 Summary
The heroes arrive at the newly made Planet Bowser, where Bowser Jr.’s universe-threatening cannon is nearly ready. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi battle through Bowser’s forces while Fox, Toad, and the Lumas support them from the Comet Observatory. Mario knocks Bowser into lava, but Bowser survives as Dry Bowser. Bowser Jr.’s own creation turns against him, and Mario saves Bowser Jr.’s life. Bowser Jr. begins to realize his plan has gone too far.
## Chapter 7: The Choice That Changes Everything
The cannon’s light grew brighter and brighter.
It pulled power from Rosalina’s prison in streams of blue and silver. Rosalina stood inside the cage, weak but still trying to resist. Each time the cannon pulled from her, the stars above Planet Bowser flickered.
Peach ran toward her sister.
Dry Bowser blocked the way with a wall of fire.
Mario and Luigi attacked together. Yoshi darted around the flames. Luigi found a power-up block and struck it with all his strength. Bright items spilled out across the bridge.
Mario grabbed one.
Luigi grabbed another.
Yoshi caught one in his mouth and glowed with new strength.
The battle became wild and fast. Mario bounced between platforms. Luigi slid under Dry Bowser’s claws and surprised him from behind. Yoshi leaped higher than any of them, knocking aside the last guards between Peach and Rosalina.
Peach reached the prison.
Her hands shone with starlight.
Rosalina lifted her own hands from inside the cage.
Sister to sister, their power met.
The cage cracked.
Bowser Jr. watched from near the cannon controls.
His father shouted for him to fire.
The cannon was ready.
All Bowser Jr. had to do was press the final switch.
If he did, everyone would fear Bowser again. His father would call him strong. Maybe Bowser would finally look at him the way Bowser Jr. had always wanted.
But Bowser Jr. also saw the Lumas crying out for Rosalina. He saw Peach risking everything for her sister. He saw Mario, who had saved him when his own machine went wrong.
And he saw his father, not proud and happy, but angry and hungry for more.
Bowser Jr.’s hand hovered over the switch.
The cannon shook the planet.
Peach broke the cage.
Rosalina fell forward, and Peach caught her.
For a moment, the sisters held each other in the burning light of Planet Bowser.
Then the cannon began to overload.
Without Rosalina trapped inside it, the machine could not control the power it had stolen. Cracks spread through the metal. Bolts shot loose. The whole planet rumbled.
Bowser Jr. stepped back, frightened.
Dry Bowser lunged toward the cannon, trying to force it to fire anyway.
Mario blocked him.
Luigi stood beside Mario.
Yoshi stood beside Luigi.
Peach helped Rosalina stand, and together the sisters raised their hands.
Cosmic light filled the bridge.
Not the harsh light of the cannon.
A living light.
A healing light.
The power swept across Planet Bowser. It cooled the lava. It softened the black stone. It wrapped around the broken cannon and pulled it apart piece by piece, turning its terrible metal into harmless sparks.
Dry Bowser roared and fought, but he could not stop it.
Bowser Jr. did not press the switch.
He stepped away.
That was his choice.
The cannon broke apart, and the stolen star power rushed back into the sky.
Rosalina’s glow returned little by little. The Lumas cheered from above. Fox guided the Comet Observatory through falling pieces of metal while Toad shouted directions much louder than necessary.
Planet Bowser stopped shaking.
It was no longer only a fortress.
Under Peach and Rosalina’s power, green began to spread across the ground. Flowers pushed up through cracks. The air cooled. The sky cleared.
The terrible planet was becoming a new world.
Bowser stared at it, furious and amazed.
Bowser Jr. stared too.
For the first time, he looked less like a villain and more like a kid who had made a very big mistake.
## Chapter 7 Summary
The cannon begins draining the last of Rosalina’s power. Peach reaches Rosalina, and the two sisters combine their cosmic power. Bowser Jr. has the chance to fire the cannon, but after seeing the harm he has caused and remembering that Mario saved him, he steps away from the switch. The cannon overloads and is destroyed. Peach and Rosalina use their shared power to heal Rosalina and begin transforming Planet Bowser from a dangerous fortress into a new living world.
## Chapter 8: The Stars Shine Home
When the battle ended, silence came slowly.
First the cannon stopped roaring.
Then the machines stopped clanking.
Then the lava stopped hissing.
At last, the only sound was the soft singing of the Lumas as they floated down from the Comet Observatory to gather around Rosalina.
Rosalina knelt and opened her arms.
The Lumas rushed to her like sparks returning to a fire. They spun around her, crying and laughing at the same time. Rosalina held them close, her eyes bright with tears.
Peach stood beside her.
For most of her life, Peach had believed her family story began in the Mushroom Kingdom. Now she knew it began in the stars too.
Rosalina reached for Peach’s hand.
Peach took it.
They were sisters.
Different kingdoms had raised them. Different duties had shaped them. But the same stardust lived inside them both.
Mario watched with a smile.
Luigi leaned toward him. “So Princess Peach has a space sister,” he said. “That seems important.”
Mario nodded.
Yoshi made a happy sound and chased a flower petal that floated past his nose.
There was still work to do.
Peach’s castle had been badly damaged in Honeyhive Galaxy. The Comet Observatory needed repairs. The Mushroom Kingdom needed its princess back. And someone had to deal with Bowser and Bowser Jr.
Fox McCloud handled that part.
With help from Toad and the Lumas, he secured the Bowsers and prepared to take them to prison. Bowser complained the entire time. Bowser Jr. stayed quieter. He looked back once at the new world forming where Planet Bowser had been.
Mario gave him a small nod.
Bowser Jr. did not smile.
But he did not look away either.
Fox climbed into his repaired ship. He had his own universe to return to, and he liked to leave before anyone asked him to help rebuild a castle.
Toad thanked him by offering three emergency snacks from his backpack.
Fox accepted one.
The trip home felt different from the trip out.
The stars were brighter now. The Lumas flew happily around the Comet Observatory, guiding it through space. Rosalina stood at the controls with Peach beside her, teaching her how to read the quiet movements of the galaxies.
Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi watched from a balcony as the Mushroom Kingdom appeared below.
Home.
The rebuilding took many days.
In Honeyhive Galaxy, bees helped lift heavy stones with sticky honey ropes. Toads carried tools, boards, and snacks. The Lumas lit the work areas at night. Yoshi was excellent at moving supplies, though sometimes the supplies were fruit and sometimes the fruit disappeared.
Mario and Luigi fixed pipes, patched walls, and repaired broken platforms. They were plumbers again, and heroes too. This time, those things felt like the same job.
Peach and Rosalina worked together to restore the castle. When their hands glowed with starlight, cracks sealed, flowers bloomed, and broken towers stood tall again.
The Mushroom Kingdom had never seen anything like it.
At last, the castle was whole.
That night, the heroes gathered under a clear sky. The Lumas floated above the courtyard like tiny lanterns. Rosalina looked up at the stars, then down at Peach.
She would return to the Comet Observatory.
Peach would stay with the Mushroom Kingdom.
But they were not lost to each other anymore.
Families could be far apart and still shine toward the same place.
Mario stood with Luigi and Yoshi near the garden gate. Luigi was tired, dusty, and very proud of himself. Yoshi leaned against him sleepily.
Mario looked at the stars.
Somewhere out there were galaxies full of danger, mystery, and adventure.
But tonight, the stars were peaceful.
Tonight, the kingdom was safe.
Far away in Gateway Galaxy, Ukiki crept toward another backpack, his eyes shining with mischief.
Just before he could snatch it, someone stepped into his path.
Princess Daisy.
She folded her arms and smiled like she had been waiting for exactly this kind of trouble.
Ukiki froze.
The stars twinkled overhead.
And the universe, bright and wide and full of stories, kept turning.
## Chapter 8 Summary
