NKJV Scripture Verification Register

Purpose: This register verifies the Scripture references and Scripture-like quotations used in covenant_parenting_bryan_hickman_revised.

Interpretive status: The parenting manuscript is an interpretation and synthesis of Bryan Hickman's voice recordings, not a verified verbatim transcript. Bryan Hickman's review is pending. The Scripture comparison below is also an editorial working document for his review; it does not imply that Bryan approved any wording, application, or theological conclusion.

Method: Explicit Bible references were enumerated from the revised draft and compared with the New King James Version (NKJV) text retrieved from the linked BibleGateway passage pages on 2026-08-14. Existing source renderings are not silently replaced here. Each entry identifies whether the wording in the manuscript is exact, partial, interpretive, or a probable allusion.

Status: John 5:19 is a probable allusion to the source teaching's wording, but the source material does not state the reference and the wording is not verbatim NKJV. Confirm with Bryan before attaching the reference or replacing the source quotation.

Editorial actions still required

Bryan should confirm whether the body should retain the source renderings, replace them with exact NKJV quotations, or show both side by side.
Any replacement of source wording is an editorial change and must remain visible for Bryan's review.
Add explicit NKJV labels to body quotations only after the wording has been reconciled with this register.
Keep Scripture verification separate from safeguarding approval. In particular, the Proverbs passages and the manuscript's switch, rod, blanket-training, and correction-room material require independent safeguarding, developmental, legal, theological, and pastoral review.
Confirm all probable allusions—especially Matthew 7:7 and John 5:19—with Bryan before treating them as intended references.
